The spread of discount retailers in regions of V4 countries

The purpose of this research is to illustrate similarities and differences in the degree of spatial dispersion of discount retail chains. The study area encompasses 108 NUTS3 regions within Poland, Czech Republic, Slovakia and Hungary. The study deals with the scale of differences in the number of outlets (enterprise density) within regions of V4 countries. Finally some factors determining observed differences are analyzed (settlement structure, economic development, disposable income, demographic structure, etc.).
